This wonderful 1974 Ducati 750 GT came from a 13 piece collection I was very fortunate to rescue. This bike and it's 12 siblings sat dormant in a Texas barn for 34 years. The late owner, who was the 1 original owner of this bike, had impeccable taste. He was an aeronautical engineer, and didn't fool around when it came to maintaining his bikes. This bike was found along side others such as a Triumph X-75 Hurricane, John Player Norton,100 original mile Bonneville, Norvil Production Racer, Trident T160, Moto Guzzi V7 sport, MK3 Electric Start Commando, and the list goes on. The bike cold starts with first kick and idling smoothly, When running it is dead silent even when clutch is pulled; the comment was given “It ran like an electronic motor!”. If you wondered how a /2 should sound while it idles, this is the textbook example. This bike has original steel factory straps, wires are clean and unmolested! This bike is so original and function so well, It was parked year ago due to coil failure and (we installed a new one from Germany). It was stored correctly and inside tank is MINT! Therefore, we decided leave this beautiful patina along and focused on the mechanic. And the new owner can ride while do the cosmetic as his/her choose. All electronic and lights works, lots of period goodies include a nice EURO NAGURA bars, And we have gone through the whole bike with our high standard shop ready for road service, works performed were as followed: New Coil from BOSHNew horn, New Bulbs. Serviced brake shoes, both front and back. New fuel lines. Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. Safety checked/re-torqued on every single nuts and bolts on the whole bike. Re-adjusted front brake setting. Ensured all the wiring/lights functional. Re-set valve gaps to spec. Re-set ignition timing/gap. Sealed 6 volt battery from our inventory, New spark plugs. Replaced all fluids (TWICE) (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). Cleaned/lubed all the cables. This bike wears this 50 years old patina paint lost, and paint touch ups, and front and rear fenders are still very solid. The inside of the gas tank is clean with factory red paint still attached. Over the last five years, while running the bike in the Summer, Winters have seen virtually everything on the bike stripped down and reconditioned or rebuilt including the engine, carbs, trans, forks, instruments and wheels. Engine work included a low mileage matched set of barrels and pistons, all new bearings, unleaded conversion, new guides, a reconditioned crank and upgraded cam blocks. Many parts are new including indicators; Hawker battery; cam, primary and final chains; cables; fuel taps; Hagon shocks, etc. etc. The frame is newly painted and the exhaust pipes chromed a couple of years ago, along with the chain guard and headlight brackets. A Redax/Sachse system has been fitted to give a higher charge and electronic ignition - a huge improvement. Other non standard parts are the silencers (Jota) and the rear sets. A Redax/Sachse system has been fitted to give a higher charge and electronic ignition - a huge improvement. Other non standard parts are the silencers (Jota) and the rear sets. The bike is not immaculate as it has been used (Summer only) but it is tidy. Used 1974 36,231 miles The bike is a good runner and I have enjoyed many thousands of miles on it. Over the last five years, while running the bike in the Summer, Winters have seen virtually everything on the bike stripped down and reconditioned or rebuilt including the engine, carbs, trans, forks, instruments and wheels. Engine work included a low mileage matched set of barrels and pistons, all new bearings, unleaded conversion, new guides, a reconditioned crank and upgraded cam blocks.
