are âas they left the factory in West Germany, â with the interior described as being in âas-newâ condition, and with chassis components that may be original. The 450SL was powered in 1979 by Mercedes-Benzâs 4,520-cc OHC V-8. With a compression ratio of 8.8:1 and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 215 horsepower when new.
