âThe engine runs great and there is no smoke, â Its Powerglide two-speed automatic was replaced with a Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 three-speed transmission before i bought the RS, and he has paperwork that says it was rebuilt in 2003.
It âshifts great, â he notes, âbut it goes into second gear a little hard if you're accelerating quickly.
â the seals appear to be good and the trunk seal was replaced in 2005. He warns, however, âBeing a convertible from the 1960s, thereâs never a solid seal with the window glass and top. â He confirms that all the lights work and the automatic headlight covers open and close.
For even cooler warm-weather cruising, the previous owner installed a Vintage Air A/C system. The steering wheel has been replaced and seat upholstery issues are limited to a small cut at the front edge of the driverâs seat. There is wear on the carpet, but a new one is included in the sale. The heat, A/C, crank windows, door locks, and instruments are said to be operable. The speedometer has been recalibrated for accuracy, and the driverâs-side window âcan be a little hard to roll up. â
