1981 De Lorean DMC-12 two door coupe for Sale

This De Lorean has been well loved and cared for for the 12 years we have had her.

Of the 8,400 built this is one of the few of the 5,000 left in the world that still run and can be used as a daily driver. The " D" gets great gas mileage and zips down the highway or around town with ease. She gets the most attention at any of the car

shows we have had her at. Kids from 6 to 80 all recognize it. It's like driving a museum piece and a movie star. I would love to keep her, but it is now time she went to a new home so someone else can enjoy and take care of her. Most of the mechanical wear items have been replaced over the past few years to make her a true " Daily Driver" These include: -Dependable " Bulletproof" PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) engine.

Parts are available from many sources. -Complete 134a freon A/C system replacing the old R12 with new system designed for the car (Special T). Blows very cold for South Texas summers. -High amperage GM alternator. -New Power Brake Booster with Master Cylinder,

new FR flex brake lines, new brake pads (4 wheels) and new Front Disks. -New front wheel bearings. -Rack and Pinion replaced at about 46,500 mi (10,000 since).

-Brass Radiator (not plastic/Alum) with heavy duty (Spec T) Fans, coolant hoses, Stainless Surge Tank, air bleed system modification for coolant and New Water Pump (DMC), -Replaced cooling fans-Stainless steel letters in the rear bumper- Revised the horn to a WOLO air-horn (Europe sounding) -Cooper Tires (correct sizes FR for the car). about 6,000 miles on them. Also small spare was replaced on org rim in 2010 (actually holds air). -Header exhaust system from DMC Houston with Magnaflow muffler, cold air intake and KN filter. (Their

power upgrade package). -New intake seals (required to change water pump)-New oil pressure sensor-Revised and improved (Special T Auto) Fuel Pump system (no Ethanol probs)-New Stabilis door opening cylinder struts.

(Trunk and Engine louvers too). -Silver Star Headlights, LED Door open marker lights (to prevent battery drain when showing car)-Sony AM/FM/CD with AUX input and XM radio input. also includes a sub-woofer hidden in compartment behind the seat and X-Plod speakers in dash and panels. -The XM kit for the radio is included, but not currently installed-Seat covers were replaced at original rebuild in 2004/05 with DMC HOU two tone Black and Gray.

Headliner replaced then too. Dash has some cracks so a cloth dash cover was installed. -Convex Rear outside mirrors were cut and added over originals LR to help with seeing out. -Has a small crack in the windshield on the passenger side -Has a ding in the back bumper from parking lot bump -Has scratches on right roll up window from it being mis-aligned during -Has a ding in the hood from a bullet falling from the sky on new years eve.
